Last night was the most fun New Years I've had in a long time. Alex, Jim, Noah, and I went to Jim's house to watch this crazy Spanish film. I was going to go home afterwards, but instead decided to stay the night. So since I wasn't going anywhere, I decided to get drunk. The four of us raided the liquor cabinet and I had two glasses of wine, a screwdriver, a rum/apple juice drink, about a shot of Peach Schnappes, and chocolate milk with Pepppermint Schnappes. In other words, I drank a lot of alcohol and got drunk--probably as inebriated as I've ever been. It was such a riot. Alex drunk is a rarity, so I enjoyed it to its fullest extent. I woke up the next morning lightheaded and nauseous, but drank a lot of water and then ate an incredible southern meal Jim's mom made, so all was better. I think I've had enough drinking for a while--or at least until the festivities in Savannah.Canada was coooold--it stayed below freezing the entire trip. At one point the sidewalks were covered in a thick layer of ice, so a quick jaunt to the Gap turned nearly lethal as I tried not to slide into oncoming traffic. The country entirely through me off--it was a blend of France and America, so I never knew what to expect. People would greet you in perfect French, then the next minute talk to you in slang English. The road signs were all in French, and the french language was the primary language everywhere, yet Montreal was so modern...so Atlanta I guess. Such an odd combination. The shopping was incredible. There was an entire building devoted to hip energy jeans, cheap and crappy quality though they are. I bought a really naughty pair of jeans from the Levi store. They're very low, very tight even on me, which is difficult to find, and they have a nice vintage wash. I can't wait to wear them, although they're very tight. At least I have a pair of tight jeans now.Savannah is soon--I can't wait. I am ready for warmth and palm trees and friends. I can't wait to see Leslie and Emily and Taylor and Tony and Richard, Allison, etc. It will be great to be in Savannah when there are people there! I need to shower and shave...I feel gross from all the liquor and fried chicken.
